Mac+Tech

MAC+TECH SINCE 1988
Poona Roonz, ACN, has been providing dedicated Apple Macintosh-based support services to small businesses, designers and creative professionals, as well as families and home users in Marin County since 1988. Mac+Tech is certified by Apple as a member of the Apple Consultants Network (Mac OS X Tiger, 10.4).

THE MISSION
Make it easy to do complex things. When it stops working, get it to work. Most importantly: empower my clients without burdening them with technical issues. A lot of my work is showing people how to do things more easily (training). I also do all those technical things you’d expect – setting up networks in homes and offices, wireless, automatic back-ups, configuring email accounts, data recovery, upgrades, and much more.

ON-SITE SUPPORT
Mac Tech On-SiteI can usually schedule an appointment within a day or two. Sometimes I can juggle my schedule for same-day visits. There is no travel charge for most of Marin. Many of my clients choose ongoing phone support between on-site service visits. Other options include Apple Remote Desktop, which allows me to troubleshoot your computer from my home office.

WE DO WINDOWS
All new Macs can run Windows. When requested, I set Windows up on my clients’ Macintosh computers to give them the ability to switch back and forth and use real Windows programs.

THE TUNE-UP
Technology changes fast. At least once a year, I recommend having a professional update your software and run basic diagnostics to keep your computer running well. When I do a tune-up, I also evaluate your computer and let you know if you would benefit from an upgrade, like adding memory, or setting up a wireless network. <MORE>

TESTIMONIALS

As an “intervenor” (public interest watchdog over PG&E’s shenanigans) I have unforgiving deadlines to deliver testimony to the California Public Utilities Commission. More than once, Poona was right there when I needed him to heal my ailing Mac so I could meet my deadlines.

I’ve also spent many worthwhile hours at Poona's side, absorbing all manner of wisdom, tips and tricks he graciously offered in response to my questions – never condescending or making me feel I was asking too much.

Then there was the time he extricated me from the unbelievable mess that my web host made of my website – and followed up by coaxing and coaching me into believing I could develop the site the way I wanted it.
