Surge Protection
To protect your computer you need two things: Surge Protection to guard against spikes in power line voltage; and a back-up power supply (Uninterrupted Power Supply or UPS). Your surge protector should handle at least 1700 joules. Your UPS 350 to 850 volts, depending on your system. Also protect your Mac with AppleCare and computer insurance.
